Clicking through from the validator link leads to
http://www.htmlhelp.com/tools/validator/problems.html#script which notes
that "[t]his is an unintuitive quirk of SGML for elements defined to
have CDATA content" and suggests using "<\/b>" for the closing tag
instead.
