thanks for your email.
First of all, please note that a package maintained by the QA Team is
a package without a proper maintainer: the team takes over maintenance
for "orphaned" packages (those that the previous maintainers, for
various reason, didn't want to maintain anymore).
The email address used is the one for the packages maintainer by QA
team: I'm replacing it with the mailing list address used for
discussions.

So, in this particular case, you're much welcome to take over the
maintanership of varkon! the bug stating this package is orphaned is
[1].
