I should add that the above script when ran from the command line (as opposed
to being imported as a package) will run a crude test, which will hopefully
detect any parsing breakage due to changes/issues in the input format.

It might be a good idea to run it like this in a, say, bi-weekly cronjob (will
exit with non-zero on failures; just /dev/null stdout to not get emails on
success).
