When Woody was Stable, I had downloaded "ds9" from the NASA archive and
was working on it. "ds9" NEED a modified tcl/tk, because otherwise it
would on operating systems like this crappy one from Redmond...

Note: I have an account @ESO and can access the whole FITS server with
over 30 TByte directly and I was working on a Add-On, which let
me access the FITS server in realtime, downloading the files and
viewing it in "ds9" (plus creating a local repository) but how
you sayed: "The code is a mess!"

Thanks, Greetings and nice Day/Evening
