This is now implemented: bin/generate_html.sh will echo on standard output issues if xsltproc does not return exit code 0. Since the PTS update is run via cron, someone should receive an email related to the output. Don't know who is listening to cron output for the qa user though ..., Cc-ing debian-qa for advices on this.
