if it's in that "debian patches" discussion, i killfiled the whole thing 
because the S:N ratio was getting a little low.  but i assumed someone must 
have proposed something similar.

agreed.  some kind of machine-parsable summary information could be generated, 
so that the pts page had more than just a link but something perhaps more "at 
a glance" useful, but the bulk of the information would be on a seperate 
page.
