Package: xlibs
Version: 4.1.0-6

Running apt-get upgrade led to the following error:

Preparing to replace xlibs 4.1.0-5 (using .../xlibs_4.1.0-6_i386.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement xlibs ...
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/xlibs_4.1.0-6_i386.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite `/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/app-defaults', which is also in package xmailtool

The file `/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/app-defaults' is a sybolic link to
`/etc/X11/app-defaults', and is contained in many packages. The
file in the xlibs-package is a symlink to the same location, so
this should not lead to a conflict.

I am using sid with kernel 2.4.9

Hi,

The xlibs package has now been fixed so that it doesn't complain when an
old package like xmailtool uses the old app-defaults location. Since, as
Richard pointed out, xmailtool is no longer in unstable and will not be
included in the next release of Debian unless a new maintainer
reintroduces it, I think the best course of action is to close this bug.
xmailtool will no longer interrupt upgrades in the way you described.

Cheers,
