Subject: xxgdb unusable

Package: xxgdb
Version: 1.12

I seem to have the same problem as already reported in bug report #9417.
When I start xxgdb I get:

Warning: Cannot allocate colormap entry for "snow1"
Warning: Cannot allocate colormap entry for "snow2"
/dev/ttyp5: Permission denied

When I try to open a file I get:

Segmentation violation

and xxgdb crashes. Has there been a solution to the problem or is
everyone just using another X interface to gdb? (If the latter, which?)

My kernel is 2.0.33, I have libc.so.5.4.33 and XFree86 3.3.2.

I'd be grateful for any help.

Regards,

Claudia.

uploads.)

Here is the relevant changelog entry:
