This is not false, I have just been there, and you can download
realplayer basic for unix, just like you've been able to for the past however
many months..

Just get to where you "fill out this form to download free realplayer 8
basic.." blah blah, and select "UNIX" from one of the boxes..

Not to be too rude, but it's not the package's fault if real's site is
difficult to navigate.

http://huxley.real.com/real/player/unix/unix.html?src=rpbform
this is where you end up.

Why does realplayer package not tell you to go there?
well.. for one thing it's rude to deeply link.
second.. this could chance frequently.. www.real.com/player has been around..
for quite a while. it's advantageous to real to maintain consistency in
commonly used URL's.

I am running unstable, and it works fine for me, perhaps you'd care to
elaborate as to why it won't work for you?

If you're getting errors about shared libraries, ensure you have xlibs
installed.
