It now works again. I have the same except I use 2.2.17-1-ide kernel
image. I changed the inetd cucipop user to mail instead of root (should
this make any difference?), and I did reinstall cucipop (I tried qpopper
but it gave some "getpwnam" error). Mysterious. Yes I am very sure I typed
in the correct password :-(

Any ideas as to the reason of the problem & possible reason for the
fix? Not me, but if anybody messes with libc6 again, I'll scorn
them. ;-)
