Do you want to take over the package once you are an official maintainer?
In that case I would suggest you change the maintainer field in the
control file so you get the bug reports etc. to your personal address. 
If you just wanted to help out with QA - thank you very much. 

I wonder why you are still stuck in the NM process. Is there a problem 
with the identification step?
