I may be jocking, but you're exaggerating. :-)
Why make someone search for 1-2 minutes when all you have to do is add
one sentence to the package description clarifying the unmet
dependencies? I think it's entirely reasonable to add such a notice to
any package that has an unmet dependency on X, even if X-src is
available, and that hardly constitutes adding "nearly the same
information to every package".
In any case, seeing as how the unmet dependencies are intentional I
guess there's no bug anymore, so it's up to you what to do with the
description.
