In fact I would suggest to just recompile and NMU if that works. I don't
think an upload with unchanged source should count as "real" NMU.

I could fix a lot of bugs from the list in nearly no time but I do not want
to do this as long as there is time for the maintainer to react himself.
Most of the bugs are not too old. The other half is very hard to fix.
When I get time I will again go over the list and recompile everything I can
offering to NMU.
