This is an automated bugreport.

The package ftplib contains a shared library that should be
explicitly linked with the libraries it depends on.
Filename:

  usr/lib/libftp.so.1.0

Explicit linking of shared libraries has several advantages, the most
important of which is that it allows the dynamic linker to detect
conflicts between library versions.

Every shared library should at least be linked explicitly with libc,
by passing -lc to the linker.

When this is done, the package can use dpkg-shlibdeps on the shared
libraries to generate a correct Depends: line automatically.

Linking shared libraries this way was marked as a release goal for
Debian 2.0, in Brian White's "Upcoming Debian Releases" list, the
last of which was mailed to debian-devel on 8 Sep 1997.
