Dear Maintainer,
CDBS is an unmaintained build system that is slowly being removed
from Debian.
One necessary step in this process to ease it's removal is to make it
loose it's "key package" / "Too big to fail" special status.
This status is inherited from other "key packages" - such as yours -
needing cdbs to build.
So please move away from CDBS and use the new simple DH sequencer.

So here are the news. I took me an awfull long time to fix this Trixie machine.
And with both the old and new CDBS I'm getting the same -udeb as result
down to the same md5sum.
So the removed code had no impact
I have problem with font-noto build hanging inside "debuild"
waiting for nothing but not in proprer "gpb --git-pbuilder".
I'm glad I can close this "stable" case an move-on.
