Hi Chris,

I'm proposing to remove netdata from Debian (unstable), due to the
licensing concerns mentioned in #1106233 (Orphan bug). I understand
these to mean that src:netdata is mostly useless in Debian.

I forgot to write #1106233 two things that make it even worse:

  * the non-free netdata-ui requires a netdata.cloud login, without it
    is not usable at all (eventhough the binary is running on the local
    system).

  * over the course of the last two years, upstream has moved a lot of
    functionality out of the locally running non-free netdata-ui into
    the netdata.cloud service.

    I expect that with upcoming versions, netdata-ui will more and more
    transform into being solely a "local renderer" to display the
    netdata.cloud website by moving total control (licensing,
    metadata and telemetry) to upstreams own managed proprietary service
    in order to maximize commercial profit.

I therefore support the immediate removal of netdata, I don't see the need for prolonging it further.

Should things change fundamentally how Netdata Inc. runs things, or someone wanting to re-introduce it in contrib, they can always do it via going through NEW (they would need to repackage the whole thing from scratch anyway).

Regards,
Daniel
