That dependency on dhcpcd-dbus  can and should be removed.

The dependency on dhcpcd is sitll missing.

Also, as far as I can tell, upstream no longer ships a separate
dhcpcd-dbus. Unless I misread, this has been merged in dhcpcd-ui
(which can now produce a QT front-end in additon to the GTK one).

Dhcpcd-dbus provides dhcpcd just check the link below and I didn't see
anything being merged about that in the commits made, are you sure
about that?
The only dependency that was missing was wpa_supplicant to be
installed that the package depended on.
Then I want to test compiling it to qt5 since the upstream mentioned
that it works. Already qt4 is not used anymore.
I remember using dhcpcd-ui to see how it worked when I worked on it to
release 0.7.8. It works fine without needing to enter any
dependencies.
Just in conclusion, there are no missing dependencies since this bug
closes (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1031092).

https://packages.debian.org/sid/dhcpcd-gtk

https://github.com/NetworkConfiguration

Do you see any dhcpcd-dbus there?

What I want to know is if this package still depends on dhcpcd-dbus,
if something has been merged, otherwise I will test the compilation
for qt5 and switch to dhcpcd. I add these two changes and ask someone
to DD to upload them. This package depends on dhcpcd-dbus which the
author has removed from their repositories since first upload for
Debian.
There is an issue that makes it possible to remove dhcpcd-dbus from
the distribution because of upstream discontinuities.
And I had already seen that he removed dhcpcd-dbus from his
repositories. Didn't created any repository for it on github.

Let's ask Roy himself. (in CC).

Martin-Éric

Thanks, I was about to email him about that. He was the one who did
the first packaging and maintained it for a period.
In Alpine, for example, kept dhcpcd-dbus:
