PS: I just noticed the package is orphaned, so anyone, including
yourself, can update the package fixing any issues. Please read the
following links and you will get an idea of how to get this issue fixed
in Debian. There are active sponsors who accept updates to orphaned
packages, so you shouldn't have any problem getting yours accepted.
