Bug#1018768: Bonding interface gets the wrong MAC address when configured for the first time

Package: ifenslave
Version: 2.12

This bug has already been filed as #949062 and was archived with the
comment 'Fixed in version ifenslave/2.13'. OK so far, but whats about
bullseye? I just just wasted about 2h of my time finally retracing the
steps someone did over 2 years ago. Is this going to be fixed in stable?
This bug seems insignificant if you run a single machine on a subnet
with a bond interface, but if you are setting up several servers within
the same subnet and all get the same mac address on their bond
interface, it gets a bit annoying.
Where does the mac address, the bond interface gets comes from anyways?
As I got the same address on three different machines.
