Bug#1004645: rc: Tab complete leads to crash on some (e.g. empty) lines

Package: rc
Version: 1.7.4+97.gceb59bb-4
Severity: important
X-Debbugs-Cc: nils+debian-reportbug@dieweltistgarnichtso.net

Dear maintainer,

I have used the rc shell for quite a while now. I really like it.

However, It fails to tab complete after an upgrade to Debian Bullseye.

When I press tab on an empty line, the rc shell crashes with this message:

free(): double free detected in tcache 2

-- System Information:
Debian Release: 11.2
  APT prefers stable
APT policy: (900, 'stable'), (500, 'oldoldstable')

rc recommends no packages.

rc suggests no packages.
