Package: memtest86+
Version: 4.20-1

memtest86+ dies immediately at boot time. I see the blue
background flash up, then the PC does a reset.

Processor is an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz.
dmidecode lists the RAM as:

Please note that there are 2 different part numbers. The PC
was upgraded from 8 to 16GByte. A similar PC with 4 identical
DIMMs shows no problem with memtest86+.

There are no runtime problems with this PC, as it seems.
