Package: mozplugger
Version: 1.14.5-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,
I am encountering a bug with mozplugger which causes other tabs in an Iceape or
Iceweasel window to become corrupted and unreadable. I had recently updated
mozplugger, Iceape (2.7.5-1), and Iceweasel (10.0.5esr-2), and began to
encounter this problem. In order to replicate this bug, open several tabs with
one or more containing a mozplugger element, and then switch to the tab
containing the mozplugger element then try to switch to a different tab. The
display area of the window remains corrupted until the tab containing the
mozplugger element is selected again. In the event that there are several
mozplugger tabs, the first tab which caused the corruption must be selected
again before the corruption is removed from the window. Closing the offending
mozplugger containing tab fixes the corruption of the remaining tabs.

In my case, I encountered this problem on a tab containing a PDF file. It did
not matter whether mozplugger tried to open the PDF with xpdf or evince. The
result was still corrupted and unusable tabs in the window containing the
mozplugger tab. Other Iceape windows which do not contain the offending
mozplugger tab are unaffected and operate normally. The only "solution" to fix
this is to disable the mozplugger plugin. It is possible that this bug is
similar to or a duplicate of the upstream bug 24631.

mozplugger has been removed from Debian some time due to no longer being
useful with modern versions of browsers.
