Package: polipo
Version: 0.9.7-2
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

I think the default for dnsUseGethostbyname (dUG) *for Debian* should be
'happily'. Currently in you have a private entry in /etc/hosts (say you
are developing a website on your laptop ...) it'll be ignored unless dUG
is set to either 'true' or 'happily'.

The other reason is that if the system resolver is setup to use mDNS
polipo can take advantage of it straight away. I believe this would be
an advantage for Debian users -- I'm not clear if the advantage extends
to others -- since polipo would 'Just Work' in more situations.

Thanks,
Anand
