Package: bittorrent
Version: 3.2.1b-3
Severity: normal

I created a Bittorrent torrent (If that's the right term). This torrent
happens to have more than 1024 files. My user is limited to 1024 open
files. When I went to share it out with the Bittorrent downloader I
discovered the bug.

The Bittorrent downloader will open all the files and not close them.
This is naughty, and causes the Bittorrent downloader to fail to check
to see if torrent is intact.

I ran this:
| btdownloadheadless --responsefile World_English_Bible_\(WEB\).torrent \
|	--check_hashes 0

And this is the last bit of output:
| ERROR:
| trouble accessing files - [Errno 24] Too many open files:
| 'World_English_Bible_(WEB)/Psalms/067.mp3'
|
| saving: World_English_Bible_(WEB) (781.9 MB)
| percent done: 0
| time left: Download Failed!
| download to: World_English_Bible_(WEB)
| download rate:
| upload rate:
| tomg@nova:/extra/library/literature/Williams,_David$

The same thing happens if I use "--check_hashes 0" on the command line.

Looking through the code it seems that the Bittorrent downloader expects
to always have all the files in the torrent open, and the time to fix it
would be non-trivial. But it should be fixed. Bittorrent should only
open a file when it needs to and close it when it's not needed and fail
gracefully if opening fails.
