Package: hamster-applet Version: 2.91.3+git20120514.b9fec3e1-1ubuntu1 Severity: wishlist Project Hamster has made more recent releases, up to version 1.03 (I guess this is GNOME-independent version numbering). The date of the latest release is 13th May 2013, which is much more recent than the current package (almost exactly a year earlier). The applet is dead (instead, there’s a shell extension), and the maintainer is seeking to retire, but will still make sure Hamster will work, as he’s still using it; from a packaging point of view this sounds like a good thing, as it’s likely that after transitioning to the new Hamster there would be a period of calm. It would be good to see this new version packaged, both to be up to date and get some bug fixes, and to work better with GNOME 3. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers raring-updates APT policy: (500, 'raring-updates'), (500, 'raring-security'), (500, 'raring') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.8.0-26-generic (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages hamster-applet depends on: ii gconf2 3.2.6-0ubuntu1 ii python 2.7.4-0ubuntu1 ii python-cairo 1.8.8-1ubuntu4 ii python-dbus 1.1.1-1ubuntu3 ii python-gconf 2.28.1+dfsg-1build1 ii python-gnome2 2.28.1+dfsg-1build1 ii python-gobject-2 2.28.6-11 ii python-gtk2 2.24.0-3ubuntu1 ii python-wnck 2.32.0+dfsg-2ubuntu1 ii python-xdg 0.25-2 Versions of packages hamster-applet recommends: ii gnome-icon-theme 3.6.2-0ubuntu1 ii hamster-indicator 0.1+037dd2e-0ubuntu2 ii python-notify 0.1.1-3ubuntu1 Versions of packages hamster-applet suggests: pn python-evolution <none> -- no debconf information
