Package: hamster-applet
Version: 2.28.1-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

first of all: the hamster-applet is great! Thanks for your work!

The latest version of hamster creates a much wider window when clicking on the
applet. Especially for the german translation e.g. in the ClearCase gnome theme
the window is wider than my 1024x768 screen. Hamster is only usable for me, if
I move it far to the left side of the gnome-panel (the window pops up left
aligned to the applet position).

The problem is reduced, when I limit the text length of the description label
in that window (allowing the line to wrap). But the input field for the current
activity is still too wide for my screen. Sadly I don't know enough about GTK
to fix this.
(the applet window layout is defined in /usr/share/hamster-applet/applet.ui)

An horizontally smaller window would be a real usability improvement!

Attached you find a screenshot of the window layout on my screen.

thanks for your work!
Lars
