Bug#400300: Please add an option or command-line flag to suppress bogus authdaemon warnings

Control: tags -1 +moreinfo

Hi,

inspecting the code that emits the error "s_connect() failed: Permission
denied", it looks like a perfectly reasonable error message. It could
probably be more specific in which exact syscall failed, but "permission
denied" when trying to connect to authdaemond clearly is an error that
should be reported.

If you don't mind the error, maybe s_connect shouldn't be called at all?
So I'm wondering if this is justs a configuration error. I'd need more
information on the setup involving maildrop and courier-authlib.

Then again, the code I'm looking at now (0.67.0) is certainly not what
it was back then. And maybe the issue got resolved by other means. If I
don't hear back on this one within two months, I plan to close the issue.

Kind Regards

Markus
