Bug#818403: wicd-daemon autonomously disconnects after ~ half a minute

Version: 1.7.4+tb2-1
wicd-daemon disconnects wireless interface (wlan0) autonomously about
half a minute after connecting. This happens consistently after a short
period of time. Stable wicd package (1.7.2.4-4.1) works. Manually
configuring the interface and starting a dhcp client naturally works as
well.
I've tried a few different settings such as dhcp clients (dhclient and
dhcpcd) but no luck. Below is a snippet from my wicd.log; first
wicd-daemon 1.7.4 starts and fails after one and half a minute. These
lines appear to the log around the time of disconnecting:

I'm not sure if they're related. Then, wicd 1.7.4 is shut down, and wicd
1.7.2 is started. The log ends with a successful connection attempt.
