The thing is, the fact that the package was orphaned doesn't change the
license on the existing packaging, so even though the packaging license
doesn't really fit the upstream license it's up to the copyright holder on
the licensed code to change it. You were right in wanting to fix the license,
but doing so either involves getting Mauro's agreement, or replacing *all*
the former packaging (including the patches).
