Package: general
Version: N/A; reported 2003-12-21
Severity: wishlist

It is hard to find a font (I'm searching preferably a scalable font for X)
which contains math Fraktur symbols (ones used e.g. to denote Lie
algebras). Note that Unifont doesn't have these symbols. (These symbols are
even above 65536 in Unicode.)

The only way I've found to do this is to install all the font packages (too
much downloading) and test them manually.

Two things need to be done:

1. Add the word Fraktur (it is probably similar in the sense to the word
"gothic" but I'm not sure) into desctiption(s) of the appropriate font
package(s).

2. Create virtual package xfont-math depending on packages with math fonts
for X. Description of this package is desirale also to enumerate the
packages it depends on with short explanations which math symbols these
fonts have.

We can even have separate virtual packages for different kinds of math
fonts. A part of possible dependence tree:

xfonts-math
|- xfonts-math-symbols
|- xfonts-math-accents
|- xfonts-math-script
|- xfonts-math-fraktur
|- ...

P.S. I report this bug to the package "general" as haven't found a better
place to report it. Debian maintainers you should think about adding some
new virtual package where to report issues about hard to dfind and missing
virtual packages things.
