Bug#777388: fish: some applications fail to detach from shell
Package: fish
Version: 2.1.1.dfsg-2
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream
Dear Maintainer,
Some applications including the zathura document viewer do not detach from the
shell when they are invoked with an & character at the end of the line.
Example:
me@computer: zathura foo.pdf &
=> shell prompt does not return until i quit the application.
Other applications work as expected and zathura and other problematic applications
work as expected in other shells, at least bash and zsh. Therefore I think that
this behaviour is the result of a bug in the job handling of fish shell.
