I'm puzzled, since my own build of it works as I noted (just checked now).
Running in a 40-line terminal, that gives this text at the top:

Just as a sanity check, I did 04975p, and got (as expected) just a few
screens before the end of the file.
Perhaps there is some option-setting which is interfering - but I don't
see that turning on the links/fields numbering changes anything.
