Package: rpcbind
Version: 0.2.1-3
File: /usr/sbin/rpcinfo
Severity: important
User: debian-hurd@lists.debian.org
Usertags: hurd

After fixing libtirpc1 to build on Hurd (See
<URL: http://bugs.debian.org/739557 > for the patch), rpcbind also built
on hurd and the rpcbind daemon seem to work fine. At least I get a list
of services when connecting to it from a Linux machine:

  % rpcinfo -p 192.168.122.17
     program vers proto port
      100000 4 tcp 111 portmapper
      100000 3 tcp 111 portmapper
      100000 2 tcp 111 portmapper
      100000 4 udp 111 portmapper
      100000 3 udp 111 portmapper
      100000 2 udp 111 portmapper
  %

But when running the rpcinfo command on the hurd machine itself, I get
this strange message instead:

  root@hurdtest:~# rpcinfo -p 192.168.122.17
rpcinfo: can't contact portmapper: RPC: Success
  root@hurdtest:~#

I find it very strange that the failure to contact portmapper is a
success. I'm not quite sure how to debug this, but this is the output
from rpctrace when running rpcinfo in case someone can make use of it:

root@hurdtest:~# rpctrace rpcinfo -p 192.168.122.17
