I am using the pdksh shell at the command line. When my
cursor reaches the end of the screen, instead of moving down to the beginning of the line, a "jump" occurs, so that the first part of the command line is lost from view, and I can see only the tail end of what I had typed. This is really annoying.

We need an option to disable this behaviour, causing the cursor to moves down a line and back to the left ("CRLF" style), like it does
with most other shells.

Hi,

while GNU bash-style command line editing (multiline) had been on the
upstream wishlist for a while, this feature request cannot be portably
implemented because it would need much more terminal knowledge, and
thus linking against things like libtermcap or curses.
