The option INITRAMFS_LOOPAES for mkinitramfs is explained in the file
/usr/share/doc/loop-aes-utils/README. I think it would be more appropriate to
include a short explanation in the initram-tools config files. So that one
can spot the information more easily.

A starting point could be a file
/etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/loopaes with the following content:
##################
# Support for encrypted root using loop-aes
#
# INITRAMFS_LOOPAES : [ auto | no | yes ]
#
# auto : Determine from /etc/fstab if the root device is encrypted and
# add support for it if needed
# yes : Add support for encrypted root device
# no : Don't add support for encrypted root device
#
INITRAMFS_LOOPAES=auto
##################

Thanks for your time,
Thomas Braun
