I cannot reproduce this either.

Note: I still get an error with wget when I use the --ca-directory
option to some directory where I have additional certificates, but
that's a problem with wget, which doesn't fall back to /etc/ssl/certs
(but no such problem with curl, for which one can give several
directories).
