Changing kbs of course. Most of the other changes are function-keys (which is the point of this report). The only other issue is for smm/rmm, which is a nuisance for bash users. While it's correct, bash users may expect the meta key to send escape. This only affects users of xterm (none of the other terminals which may set $TERM to "xterm" implement either the sequence or the corresponding meta mode). So you may want to update xterm-debian and exclude that feature. (It's non-configurable inside bash; bash's maintainer ignores reports and comments).
