I have improved the ion-edit script by making it call file to
determine the file's MIME type (run-mailcap only looks at the file
extension). In particular, this makes it work much better for text
files.

I sent this improvement to the upstream author, but he's stopped using
the ion-* scripts. Nonetheless, until ion3 is in a stable form, I
thought this improvement might be a useful addition to the Debian
package in particular.

The ion2 package has been removed from Debian so we are closing
the bugs that were still opened against it.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/526170 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.
