dict-gcide doesn't display non-ASCII characters

I notice that the original GCIDE[1] has many non-ASCII characters,
represented by SGML entities.  If you are the creator of the
dictd-compatible version, would you include these as Unicode entities
or at least their closest ASCII equivalent?
