Package: mc Version: 1:4.6.0-5 Severity: normal I use A-f and A-b (forward-word and backward-word) very often during text editing. Emacs, bash, Gtk supports it and even mc on console does - but sometimes in very strange manner. Imagine this `mc' session: F5 (I want to edit final destination), A-b Background process error Child dies unexpectedly (Midnight crashed) Huh! Close examination reveals, that there is button "Background", which I have never used and have not cared about. "Background" has hotkey A-b and takes precedence (!) over A-b from active text entry editing command (another huh!), so A-b works everywhere as an editing command except move/copy dialog. I found this very confusing and (after few unintentional mc crashes) I found myself in quite angry mood ;-) -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux hobitin 2.4.20 #2 Sat Mar 29 21:20:16 CET 2003 i586 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=cs_CZ Versions of packages mc depends on: ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libglib2.0-0 2.2.3-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgpmg1 1.19.6-12.1 General Purpose Mouse Library [lib -- no debconf information
