Bug#437426: When the file of 8bit PCM is reproduced, the noise gets on

Package: beep-media-player
Version: 0.9.7.1+cvs20050803-2
Severity: normal

Hi,

 When beep-media-player plays 8 bit WAV file, it gets noise.

$ file SE051.WAV
SE051.WAV: RIFF (little-endian) data, WAVE audio, Microsoft PCM, 8 bit, stereo 22050 Hz

 xmms and totem have no problem with that file.
