Version 4.4 was released in July 2006 and there is a separate 
source tarball for fv 4.4 at
http://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov/FTP/software/lheasoft/fv/fv44_src.tar.gz
Any chance of an upgrade in Debian/Etch?
