Severity: grave

Reading images to a file using the "Read image from CD" button on the
"Burn" tab produces a corrupt image. No warnings that the image is
    corrupt are displayed.

Read an image from a CD, preferably something big with heaps of
multimedia stuff on it (wav's, mpg's, avi's etc seem to produce more
errors) into a file "temp.raw" using gcombust. Then do the following as
    root and see all the differences;
    mount /cdrom
    mount temp.raw /mnt -o loop
    diff -rq /cdrom /mnt

Alternatively, read the CD into an image called "temp2.raw" using
something else that works, and diff it with the gcombust produced

don't read images using gcombust. Using "cat /dev/cdrom >image.raw"
works more reliably, but will produce a slightly oversized image and an
error message at the end as it attempts to read the runnout blocks. Use
the "-isosize" option on cdrecord for these images. If you know the
image size, "head -c <size> /dev/cdrom >image.raw" works reliably for me
(images read this way pass the recursive diff test every time on my

I'm not sure what gcombust uses to read CD images, but it doesn't work
on my 2.2.19 kernel system. Note that I'm using ide-scsi emulation on my
    ide CDROM and CDRW.
