Well, I have no idea what might be the problem here.  It is a fact that
I can perfectly ping 193.175.81.44 when I'm using the old ppp package
but I can not when I'm using the new package.  Perhaps I should try
to ping www.debian.org - but I have to go to the box in question first.
It was just a random IP adress I'm regularly using ...
