Bug#256324: Strange behavior af seti-applet

I observe more or less the same behavior of seti-applet :
If I want to start the client with the command displayed in the applet
menu it doesn't start (It says in the console that it tries to launch the
client but in fact it doesn't :
"Trying to start the seti@home client..."
If I launch the client manually the applet is blinking (the little
radar) and after one or two minutes it is displaying information about
the current state of the client. In that case I can stop the client
using the applet. If I re-run the client manually it displays
informations normally.
I don't understand what is happening, if I launch the client using
tkseti everithing runs fine.
