Perhaps that's not needed. The msgmerge command seems to be corrupted:
In both build logs there is something like this in the configure stage:

checking for msgmerge... ./configure: line 8104: 25391 Segmentation fault
$ac_dir/$ac_word --update -q /dev/null /dev/null >/dev/null 2>&1
no

The build logs show that the gettext package is already installed in
the chroot (probably to save time, since it's a common build-depends).

You would have to ask whoever is in charge for the m68k build daemon
to update the version of gettext which is pre-installed in the chroot
used to build packages.
