Bug#88928: Segfault on host -l and host -H after AXFR record query refused.

Hi Bdale,

Are you interested in getting more info on this bug ?

I can duplicate it, and I also get it when I do
 host -l
on certain domains which point back to my server.

(I'm on Woody with a 2.4.17 kernel)

john@aotea:~
$ host -H aotea.org
aotea.org AXFR record query refused by NS0.DRAV.NET
Segmentation fault

$ host -H aotea.org
aotea.org AXFR record query refused by NS0.DRAV.NET
Nameserver NS0.DRAV.NET not responding
aotea.org SOA record not found at NS0.DRAV.NET, try
again
Segmentation fault

john@aotea:~/
$ host -l aotea.org
aotea.org AXFR record query refused by NS0.DRAV.NET
aotea.org.              NS      NS0.DRAV.NET.
aotea.org.              NS      NSUK1.aotea.org.
aotea.org.              A       195.82.119.165
ns0.aotea.org.          A       195.82.119.165

NSUK1.aotea.org.        A       195.82.119.165
nsuk2.aotea.org.        A       195.82.119.165
smtp.aotea.org.         A       195.82.119.165
smtp0.aotea.org.        A       194.75.159.114
Segmentation fault

I also look after two other Woody boxes, which SEEM to
be exactly the same OS wise, but it doesn't happen on
them (they're not serving any domains yet - so I can't
test their own domain from them but I expect that they
will be in a few weeks so I will test them when they
are)

I appreciate the fact that host -l keeps looking after
a refusal, bind9-host doesn't even have the
functionality:

#
# bind9-host example:
#
# $ host -l aotea.org
# Host aotea.org not found: 5(REFUSED)
# ; Transfer failed.
#

I can send strace output or anything else that you
require if it's a help.

Kind Regards,

John
