Description : VPN client for educational networks

eduVPN enables students, employees and researchers to connect securely and
encrypted to the Internet from any standard device. eduVPN integrates with
the institutional network so that internal ICT services can be made available
in a secure manner.

eduVPN specifically allows one to choose a VPN server in a different country,
in order to secure network access from public networks while travelling,
without the need to route traffic around the globe to one's home institution.

eduvpn-client is a GUI application and API client that taps into your
home institution's AAI, retrieves a list of available countries / eduVPN
servers and their profiles, and adds an openvpn-based connection to
NetworkManager that includes all the necessary certificates and tokens.

The eduVPN homepage is at https://www.eduvpn.org/ and there's an
upstream packaging repo at https://github.com/eduvpn-debian/python-eduvpn-client

While suitable openvpn configuration files for one's own institution /
NREN can be downloaded through the web, the "international server"
feature is only available through use of the API ie this client.
