Just to let you know about some good news regarding the deprecated
python helpers.
python-central has just been removed from unstable, as you can see in
[0]. The only package still using python-central is gozerbot-plugins
[1], which should be removed from the archive very soon. I'll make
sure python-central will be dropped from Jessie as well, as soon as
all reverse dependencies migrate.
Also, dh_python is no longer used by any package in debian [2]. A bug
against debhelper has been filed asking to remove dh_python helper for
good [3]. A bug against lintian will be filed as soon as debhelper
will no longer provide dh_python.
