"debhelper (>= 7.0.50)" - I think this could be simply "(>= 7)", I don't 
see anything in your package that would require 7.0.50.

s/unicode/Unicode/ in the package description.

Please run tests at build time.

The package fails to build:

| ImportError: No module named setuptools
